THE League; Flex League Rules and Regulations
Teams will consist of 1 player (individual)
Each player will play a total of 10 rounds per season.
League matches consist of 18 holes on our predetermined simulated courses.
League matches will be scheduled by the player(s) at a time that fits your schedule, averaging 1 match per week.
Makeup rounds can be completed in advance if known absence is recognized.
Players should make an attempt to play ahead if absence is known.
Tee times will be made by the player; at a discounted league rate. Assuming the following time frames for an 18 hole matchup: :
1 player = 45 mins – 1 hour
2 players = 1.5 – 2 hours
3 players = 2.5 – 3 hours
4 players = 3.5 – 4 hours
League Play
Season runs from January 5 until March 6, a 10-week season.
Registration will be done via our website www.chipshotsmn.com < Leagues
League Fees: Initial league fee is $125/person.
$25 is required as down payment to enter league
$100 will be added to the prize pool
$100 Fee will be paid via Venmo or cash and paid out at season end.
Each week, players will reserve their own bays, paying discounted rates.
League Fees must be paid before the start of the season.
Prize Pool to be paid out at end of season in the following manner:
1st place – 70% of pot
2nd place – 20% of pot
3rd place – 10% of pot
Optional skins will be available for $20 a person, to be paid at the start of the season.
Net skins, to be paid out weekly
All skins play will be calculated and be visible on the GLG app.
Handicapping
Players’ indoor handicap will be established after the first two played rounds.
After week 3, handicaps will be calculated and re-applied to weeks 1 & 2.
Indoor handicap is based on a formula; accounting for 80% of average.
After week 6, the highest played score will be thrown out, and handicap readjusted.
Handicaps will be rolling; meaning it’s revised every week, scraping the highest (after week 6)
Handicaps will be based/calculated on league matches only.
We strive for accuracy of handicapping of all play; for transparency; our GLG app will show all scores, handicap calculations, skins, payouts, and all league play.
Scoring/Format
Gameplay will be an 18 hole weekly individual stroke play.
All players will compete H2H against the field every week.
The player with the lowest NET score each week receives the maximum weekly points.
I.e. 10 teams = 9 points to 1st, 8 points to 2nd, 7 points to 3rd, and 0 to last.
Running point total. = The player with the most cumulative points at season end is the winner.
All play will be played on our Full Swing Simulators for accuracy and fairness.
A Course list will be predetermined for the 10 weeks. Offering 1 course per week.
All scorecards will be printed and available for players.
Live Scoring on the GLG app is preferred for all recent matches
To ensure fairness and no cheating; all players will complete our paper scorecards, signed off by another player or staff and:
Players will screenshot their final scorecard and submit via file share.
If any discrepancies exist, we cross reference both scorecards.
Players can play ahead if an absence is known, continuing to follow the score submitting procedure.
Players may only attempt the weekly round once..
Predetermined settings will be used for each round:
Tee Box: Men – Black, Seniors – Blue, Women – Red.
Lie penalties will be ACTIVE
Wind will be NOT ACTIVE
Gimmie Range will be 8 FT for all play
Putting Grid ON
Fairway and Green speeds NORMAL
Hole location MEDIUM
Maximum score per hole will be net Double Bogey, or gross Double Par.
This is to ensure the most accurate handicap and avoid sandbagging.
(6 on par 3, 8 on par 4, and 10 on par 5)
NO MULLIGANS will be used during league play. The only exceptions:
If a shot is disrupted by or caused by equipment malfunction.
I.e. a tee picking up instead of the ball on the iOn sensor
The sensors are not picking up a shot due to malfunction of equipment.
Software freezes and impacts the shot.
A bad shot is not an approved Mulligan.
Staff will sign off or validate any questionable mulligan usage.
Players must sign off/validate their own scores and cards must be submitted after round.
Simulator Rules
We encourage all players to use their own golf ball. We do have balls if you choose not to.
If you choose to use your own golf balls, use balls free from markers, mud, dirt, etc. This is not a good mix for the screens and could cause damage and/or sensors not picking up.
No cleats to be worn in the simulators. The turf is not designed for cleats and will rip/tear.
No food or drink to be brought into the hitting area or on/near the computer. We have an exceptional setup for appropriate food and drink consumption.
Only hit from the designated hitting area, could cause damage to the simulators or sensors.
Payouts
Prize pool of $100 per team will be added and paid out to the top three (3) teams in the league.
The more teams = more payouts, and the amount of the pool will be made known to all players at season start.
Payouts will be cash, and will always be broken down to:
1st place: 70% of the pool
2nd place: 20% of the pool.
3rd place: 10% of the pool.
If an excessive amount of teams register, the league could be flighted for best competition.
Flights will be made known to all players before season starts.
Optional Skins pot will be available for those who are interested.
Cost for skins is $20/person which breaks down to $2 per week.
All skins will be monitored/calculated on our GLG app for transparency.
Skins will be paid weekly back in cash.
The more players = the more skins.
Chip Shots is an entertainment facility, and our number one mission is to provide the most fun experience for all. We frown upon throwing clubs, damaging equipment, and especially aggressive behaviors towards others. Just relax and grab a beer. This will not be tolerated.
