Tournament of Champions

Tournament of Champions: The Ultimate Pickleball Showdown

Are you ready to compete against the best of the best?

Chip Shots is thrilled to present the Tournament of Champions—a high-stakes competition where top teams from our pickleball leagues face off for incredible prizes and the prestigious title of World Champion. This event reflects our ongoing commitment to elevating the game and providing our players with the highest quality experience.

Here’s how it works:

In place of the standard season-end tournament, we’re going bigger—bigger prizes, tougher competition, and more fun! Each Tournament of Champions will conclude the previous seasons (Fall, Winter 1, and Winter 2) by pitting the top-performing teams against one another in a battle for ultimate glory.

Tournament Format

  • The top 4 teams from each division in each season (Fall, Winter 1, Winter 2) will qualify, along with 4 Wild Card teams to round out a 16-team bracket per division.
  • Teams will be ranked and seeded based on regular-season performance, including win/loss record and point differentials.
  • Single-elimination format, with matches played as best-of-three, head-to-head games. Games will be DUPR-rated and played to 11 points (win by 2).
  • A third-place game will also be held.

How to Qualify

  • Finish in the top 4 of any division during a season.
  • Didn’t finish in the top 4? No worries! Four Wild Card teams will be selected to fill the bracket.

Teams that qualify will be contacted to confirm their participation. Once all spots are filled, the official bracket will be announced.

Prizes

Winners of each tournament will receive:

  • Prizes valued up to $150, including paddles, merchandise, and/or league fee discounts for upcoming seasons.
  • Your team’s name added to our list of all time champions, to forever live in Chip Shots infamy

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What if I qualify in the same division with different partners?
You’ll need to choose one team to play with and forfeit the other entry to avoid competing against yourself.

2. What if I qualify in a lower division but now play at a higher level?
You’ll still secure a spot in the tournament but may be placed in the division that reflects your current skill level.

3. What if I don’t want to participate or can’t make it?
No problem! Simply let us know, and we’ll move to the next team on the list.

4. Can we use substitutes?
To preserve the integrity of the competition, we ask that original team rosters be used.

5. How will I know if I made it?
If your team finished in the top 4 of any division during the Fall, Winter 1, or Winter 2 seasons, you’ll receive an automatic invitation via email. Wild Card teams will be announced after the final season concludes.

6. Why the change from the standard playoffs?
This new format allows us to enhance competitiveness while giving teams that don’t want to participate in playoffs the freedom to opt out. With over 90 teams per session, this structure helps us better serve all players.
